(Fannia canicularis)
Biology:
At around 5-6 mm, it is somewhat smaller and also slimmer than the large housefly. Its restless flight is striking, sometimes circling around lamps, sometimes zig-zagging through rooms. Mass infestations occur only rarely.
Damage:
In principle, it can cause the same effects as the large housefly. As it often lives on feces and vertebrate corpses, sucks on them and shuttles between feces and food, the species is considered a possible disease vector. In addition, it is also considered a nuisance that affects well-being and soils lamps, wallpaper, etc.
