Our group can look back on over 200 years of family tradition and is active in over 120 countries with more than 800 employees.

Every year, we handle more than 50 million tons of goods, mainly in the grain and oilseed industry, but also in the nut and dried fruit industry, the coffee and cocoa industry and the tobacco and fresh fruit industry.

History - From an apothecary to an industrial company
Our roots go back to 1817, when the pharmacist Carl Christian Freyberg acquired the “Apotheke zum weißen Adler” in Delitzsch, thus laying the foundation for the company’s later development. In 1948, the company was re-established in West Germany under the leadership of Dr. Werner Freyberg, continuing the family tradition of protecting and preserving agricultural yields. Since then, the Detia Degesch Group has established itself internationally and today offers innovative solutions for the agricultural industry and other sectors worldwide. Based on our history, we are committed to ensuring that our products are used for the sole purpose of protecting food and feed.
